Talent without exposure amounts to nothing. A silent genius without recognition is like talking to the wind. It is empty and sad. This site would like to promote the works and activities of Leyteno artist in the hope of gaining exposure, acceptance and social and cultural awareness not only in the region but beyond.

Food for the Soul
Guli-at Kankabato is out with a vengeance this year powered by the local city government of Tacloban. Thus its posters screams I Love Tacloban!
This year is not only a showcase of local bands like the years before but it has also come to embrace different forms of art- writing, visual art and even rap. There is even a longboard and skateboard competition!

Be at Bistro Caliente before 8 pm because it is going to be a tight fit!
I believe that Leyte, not even Tacloban City has ever had this art experience.
March 13 is Grunge Night at 9 pm in Stereo Sushi. Act like you don't care and dress up in your best grunge outfit and be prepared for dirty guitar sound, strong riffs, and heavy drumming.
The Balyuan Convention Center will host the Guitar Clinic and Jam Session on Tuesday. A 300php registration fee is required though but it is all worth it since you will get to listen and learn from the experts.
Francis Reyes of The Dawn and Louie Talan of Razorback and Kalayo fame will be there. Kakoy Legaspi of Peryodiko, Sinosikat and Rivermaya will be there as well as the great guitar virtuoso Noli Aurillo. On drums would be Reli De Vera of Sinosikat.

YOGART
Summer is all about relaxing and having a good time.
Chaitanya Yoga offers a unique experience for you come summer time. It is yoga and art rolled into one.
The art lessons will be peppered with yoga meditation exercises. And knowing that Sir Louie, delicious vegan foods will be served. Yum!
Classes start on April 9 so hurry and enroll now.
Guli-at Kankabato Music and Arts Festival
Slowly, Leyteno's are gaining awareness of what real art is. It is not merely the mass produced paintings that you buy in malls. It is instead an expression of the artists mind, soul and body ensconced on canvas.
Guli-at Kankabato has been going on for years now but it is only now
that they have included varied fields of the arts.
Ingress of the Art Exhibit is on March 11, 2012 at Bistro Caliente at
Club 6500, nestled in Leyte Park.Best thing about this is the
entrance fee is free. If you want to get cultured, then this is the
event to be!
The artists featured are a smorgasbord of the old maestros and
the up and coming.
Established artists such as Steve Acerden, Crispin Asensi, Dulz Cuna,
, Dante Enage, Rex Makabenta, Archie Prisno and Ed Rompal will be
showing off their mastery.
Jovenz Mayor aka Ungga has his street art or graffiti plastered
throughout the city. It would really be interesting to check out
what he will have this time.
Jazz Diaz and Dulz Cuna never fails to add feminity and joie de vivre
to art exhibits with their splash of color. They are the two constant
female figures in the art scene.
Loui Deramayo's work are always tantric and done in childlike
innocence.
Philip Salem takes great photos and also has a deft hand when it
comes to paints.
Jerold Quitan is a well known local tattoo artist. I hope he
doesn't frame a tattooed carcass for this exhibit.
